Hearing Aids FAQs
Q: What is the average cost of hearing aids?
A: Costs vary depending on the type of tech you would like your hearing aids to have. They can be as little as $799 and cost as much as $3,000. We’ll work with your budget to find the best hearing aid in your price point. The average Maximal Hearing patient spends $2,000 on hearing aids.
Q: Does insurance or Medicare cover hearing aid costs?
A: Medicare does not cover hearing aids. Some insurance companies do, but generally speaking many do not. For that reason, Maximal Hearing does not file with insurance. However, we can supply a detailed invoice for submission to the insurance company to receive the insurance coverage directly. We encourage you to visit us in office so we can discuss how to find a hearing aid that best fits your budget.
Q: Why should I buy a hearing aid through Maximal Hearing versus shopping online or at a discount store?
A: The minimum training required for an audiologist is a master's degree. Online and discount stores, by contrast, are often staffed by salespeople with minimal technical training. Audiologists, like Matt Campbell, know that the most important consideration in hearing aid selection is not the hearing aid itself; rather, it is the skill and knowledge of the professional making the hearing aid recommendation.
Q: What can I expect during a hearing evaluation?
A: We detail exactly what to expect in a visit at Maximal Hearing on our Treating Hearing Loss page. Do not hesitate to give us a call for further questions.
Q: How do I know if I’m a good candidate for a hearing aid?
A: We encourage you take our online hearing evaluation. After you take the online assessment, you’ll be notified if you would be a good candidate for a hearing evaluation in our office.
Q: Do you make adjustments and provide servicing and minor repairs?
A: Yes, we do! Just call whenever you need assistance. That is the advantage of working a local clinic as opposed to a big chain or online store. You get exceptional customer service whenever you need it.
Q: Is there a trial period to test hearing aids?
A: Yes, most manufacturers provide a 30 day trial period for hearing aids.
Q: How long is the warranty? Does the warranty cover future maintenance and repairs?
A: Warranties vary. The average warranty for the hearing aids we usually fit is 3 years with unlimited cleaning and service.
